Project Save Our Children Against Drunk Driving Inc.

Our History.  Page 4.

With the donations that I had already received and the desire and motivation to make this program a realization, there was no way that I was going to stop. So I had to get back on the campaign trail for donations. I had to redesign the program to incorporate Eureka Springs and Green Forest Arkansas, with Berryville, making this a county wide program. With that in mind and the help of my wife, we came up with a way to introduce this program into the school systems.

At no cost to them they would be able to teach and inform the students of each high school about the consequences of alcohol and drugs on their driving abilities. How this program will work is that it will be introduced in the health classes of each high school. And be taught by teachers already teaching the health class, they will teach the inside portion of the course. Which consists of videos, simulator, dexterity testing, and in combination with Fatal Reactions. The outside part of the course will be taught by volunteers from each police department in each town, known as the S.R.O (schools resources officers).

In introducing this program in such a way it will be beneficial to the school systems because it will not cost anymore additional funds for the instruction of the program. The parents of each town will be secure knowing that this program will be taught by people that they already trust in their local towns and schools. The equipment will be purchased with the donations from county wide activities, in hopes to collect enough donations to buy the equipment. Project Save Our Children has now been accepted as part of the school curriculum.

I then came up with a variety of different ideas to raise money such as, a letter campaign, a door-to-door campaign, visiting all the local clubs and organizations such as the Lion’s Club, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, all the local banks. I also with the help of ABATE District 8, I put on Project Save Our Children First Annual Poker Run. If you don’t know what a poker run is it is generally motor cycles. Going from one location to another collecting playing cards along the way to make a poker hand, and the best hand of poker wins the prizes at the Poker Run.
